The Farmer's Daughter Episode Guide

The Farmer's Daughter is a sitcom that aired on ABC from September 1963 to April 1966. Based loosely on the 1947 film that starred Loretta Young and Joseph Cotten, the series starred Inger Stevens as governess Katy Holstrum and William Windom as her employer Congressman Glen Morley. Seasons 1 and 2 were filmed in black and white but the final season 3 was filmed in color.

Theme Song
The Farmer's Daughter theme song was composed by Van Alexander and George Duning. The lyrics below were written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

Katy's the farmer's daughter
You can't resist that gal
She's country style, but city designed
Got a smile that's sprinkled with sunshine
Look at the farmer's daughter
She'll perk up your morale
Her brand of charm is so disarming
Frowns turn upside down
We owe a debt to Sweden
She's just what we've been needin'
So glad the farmer's daughter came to town
